Beauty can cause pain and are often the result of hard things. But forgiving those who have sinned against us, or others forgiving us, is a beautiful thing. Forgiving those who have sinned against us is a hard thing. But Jesus refused to live by the “you pluck out my eye, I will gouge yours out. Stick a knife in my back, I’ll put a kitchen drawer full of knives in yours.” Jesus says NO to revenge and tells us to pray for our enemy. The gospel of Luke emphasizes forgiveness with greater passion than other gospel writers.
